Flickr, Digg, Newsvine, deli.icio.us

I have signed up for Flickr, Digg, Newsvine and deli.icio.us. I do not think I will be using Flickr much though, because I’m not too comfortable uploading photographs of myself to a public forum. I already post most of my pictures through a facebook account, and posting them on another site would be too time consuming and unnecessary. I will probably only post pictures of scenery and none of myself. Digg is a very interesting news networking site. Here I added Daliah and Sara to my friends and sent them ’shouts.’ It’s an easy way to stay connected on news topics, however I personally prefer to read my news straight from the source rather than going through third-party websites, but it makes finding interesting videos and most read news articles easily accessible. Newsvine was also interesting, but all of these websites are so similar, it quite repetitive, but by adding RSS feeds to topics of interest it will help the process. By the time I got to deli.cio.us the whole process seemed a little redundant. I personally do not have this much time to devote to social tagging and blogs outside of classwork, so for me, it is much easier to just receive my news from a few highly credible sites such as nytimes.com, cnn.com and huffingtonpost.com.
