Teleconference with Iran
Nov 6th, 2008 by ariannarana
On Tuesday, November 4 our class met with students from Iran via video phone. Much to my surprise the students were engaged and eager to speak with us. November 4 happened to be Election Day so our conversation was on edge. I would say that the students were educated on the issues surrounding our election as well as curious and opinionated. Many of the students were interested in our stance on politics and how America was reacting to the election. Many of the Iranian students had been following the election and were just as excited to see what way America would swing.
Although the students across the world seemed highly educated on the play by play of our election year, it was obvious that many students, as well as my self, were at a loss to what are the policies concerning Iran. It really proved to me how often America is the center of attention. It encouraged me to pursue politics in other countries.
As it goes for being on the screen I can definitely say it was a different experience and one it would take getting use to. It was obviously high technology and amazed me that in fact I can see and talk to students across the world so easily.
