I rolled out of bed, got my midnight snack, and then shuffled to the library for an 8am call to Iran. The videoconference with the students from Tehran was obviously a unique and interesting opportunity. It was a little embarrassing that nobody remembered to consider the change in time over the weekend do to daylights [...]

Iranian discussion

Although I was only at the discussion for about 20 minutes because I had class at 9, I did gain some interesting insight. First, I thought that it was interesting how many Iranian students in the class were majoring in “American studies.” I was really curious as to what that entailed. Politics? History? Pop culture? It was interesting to see the atmosphere for a school overseas. There was not too much of a difference as far as structure goes from [...]

Teleconference Calling Iran

Participating in the teleconference with the University of Tehran was an interesting experience. First off, I have never been in a teleconference; so technologically speaking I found this to be quite different and interesting.

On November 4, our class participated in a teleconference with students at Tehran University in Iran. It focused on the 2008 election (which had not been decided at the time) and foreign policy relations between the U.S. and Iran.
I thought it was an extremely valuable experience for the class because we got the chance to [...]
